Who is the Winter Soldier? A spy and assassin that is much a legend as a real man. He has no identity outside of what he is. His mind is routinely wiped to keep him loyal and complacent to his masters' bidding.
Who is Bucky Barnes? He was a hero. Steve Rogers' childhood best friend. Died in combat. Or so they thought.
What is this mix? This mix follows the transformation of the Winter Soldier back into James "Bucky" Barnes. It's a terrible, hard, rough, impossible road... and he's never going to be the same. He can't be.
